Apple Faces Trademark Infringement Action in Turkey

The world’s most famous computer and peripherial devices’ company, Apple faces with a trademark infringement case in Turkey. Apple uses a program called SAFARI as its web browser in its products Macintosh, iPod, and iPhone. Gozen Optik, a local Turkish company which registered the trademark SAFARI for goods covering computer programs in 2007,sent warning letters to Apple’s authorized dealers through notary to stop sales of products with SAFARI program.  The attorney of GOZEN claims that “Apple wanted to get the trademark from her client free but there had no deal. Claiming that Apple registered the trademark in 49 different countries but not in Turkey so they will seek for injunction from Court to stop the infringement.”
